
Marinara Sauce
Ingredients
- 28 ounces whole peeled tomatoes san marzano
- 1 medium yellow onion peeled, diced
- 2 large cloves garlic peeled, minced
- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Pinch of red pepper flakes
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- In a medium, heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine the tomatoes, onion, garlic, oregano and red pepper flakes
- Bring the sauce to a simmer over medium-high heat, then lower the heat to keep the sauce at a slow, steady simmer for about 45 minutes, stirring occasionally
- Remove from heat and immersion blend. Serve after slightly cooling
